Virya yoga
Virya Yoga offers dynamic, enthusiastic and enjoyable yoga sequences with a focus on active biomechanics (study of movement) and a philosophical aspect for the soul. Virya Yoga is developed by our yoga instructor Josephine Selander and sports and dance naprapath Malin Flinck. You’ll experience a tough but fun form of yoga practice in yoga series which creates strength and brings energy.
How does it work?
Virya means in sanskrit "enthusiasm", "energy" or "strength". And that’s exactly what Virya Yoga is about - to give you energy and strength. Virya Yoga consists of different yoga series and every class includes ten sections, also referred to as modules. The modules combine warm-up, sun salutations, standing poses, balance, arm balances and core strengthening asanas (poses), hip openers, backbends, forward bends, closing poses and relaxation.
When should I practice Virya Yoga?
When you want to practice a flowing yoga class that covers the whole body, and want to combine it with playful elements as well as biomechanics and philosophy. You can expect a lively and giggling session! Josephine’s approach to yoga is that it should be fun.
