    Frequently Asked Questions about the Wellness Allowance at Yogobe

    Here we've listed the most common questions about the wellness allowance and how you can use it at Yogobe.

    The rules for wellness allowances differ between Sweden and Finland — so we've answered each question twice. If you're in Sweden, you can pay via receipt or through a wellness portal (Benifex, Epassi, Benefits, or Edenred). If you're in Finland, you can use your Epassi Finland benefit directly at Yogobe.

    What is the wellness allowance?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    A wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag) is a set amount your employer can offer to cover simple activities involving physical exercise, or treatments that reduce stress or counteract soreness and stiffness — including digital wellness and home workouts. The maximum tax-free amount is 5,000 SEK/year. If the amount exceeds that, the full cost will be taxed.

    🇫🇮 Finland

    The sports and culture benefit (liikunta- ja kulttuurietu) is a tax-free employee benefit your employer can offer for sports and cultural activities. The tax-free limit is €400/year combined for sports and culture. Benefits above this amount become taxable income.

    How can I use my wellness allowance at Yogobe?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    In June 2020, Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency) approved the use of wellness allowances for digital wellness and home workouts. You can invest your allowance in:

    • Yogobe Play — our subscription service with 2,200+ pre-recorded classes, live-streamed classes and events, challenges, and complete training programs
    • Online courses or live events — standalone programs with up to 12 months of access, focused on specific topics such as childbirth preparation, meditation, or stress management

    Approved activities at Yogobe include: yoga, pilates, fitness training, rehabilitation, stress management, mindfulness & meditation, prenatal and postnatal training, childbirth preparation, running, and breathwork.

    🇫🇮 Finland

    You can use your Epassi Finland benefit at Yogobe. Eligible activities include yoga, pilates, fitness training, rehabilitation, and breathwork.

    How do I pay with my wellness allowance at Yogobe?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    You have two options:

    1. Pay yourself and get reimbursed — pay on our website, print your receipt (found under Settings / Receipts), and submit it to your employer as a personal expense.
    2. Pay via a wellness portal — we support Benifex, Epassi, Wellnet, Benefits from Söderberg & Partners, and Edenred. Scroll to the top of this page, select your portal, enter your amount, and we'll show you matching content.

    Can I purchase more access days if I already have access?

    🇸🇪 & 🇫🇮 Both countries

    Yes — for both Yogobe Play and online courses, additional access days are added automatically on top of your existing access. You can see your remaining days under Settings → Subscription & Membership when logged in.

    Will I be charged on an ongoing basis if I start a subscription?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    It depends on how you pay:

    • Via a wellness portal — you make a one-time payment in advance for a set number of access days. Nothing is charged automatically.
    • Via card or bank payment on yogobe.com or the app — you start a recurring subscription (monthly, quarterly, or annually) and will be charged automatically.

    🇫🇮 Finland

    When paying via Epassi, you make a one-time purchase for a set number of access days. Nothing is charged automatically through Epassi.

    Can I choose my own amount and access period?

    🇸🇪 & 🇫🇮 Both countries

    Yes. Select "Choose amount" to enter exactly how much you want to invest (from 50 SEK / €5) and we'll show you content that matches — including Yogobe Play access days, online courses, and live events.

    Example — Yogobe Play access based on investment (SEK):

    • 120 SEK → 15 days
    • 800 SEK → 120 days
    • 5,000 SEK → 794 days

    What is the deadline to use my wellness allowance?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    • October 31 — check with your employer as the exact date may vary, but for many employers it’s October 31.
    • December 31 — last day to make purchases via wellness portals. Purchases made by December 31 count toward the current year, even if the activity takes place in the new year.

    🇫🇮 Finland

    • December 31 — last day to use your Epassi balance. Unused funds cannot be carried over to the next year. You can, however, purchase access that extends into the new year as long as the purchase is completed before December 31.

    Can I split the allowance across multiple activities?

    🇸🇪 Sweden

    Yes. You can split the allowance across multiple activities — just keep all receipts, as these must be submitted to your employer by October 31 (or your employer's specified date).

    Example: Invest 599 SEK in a Yogobe online course and use the rest toward a massage or another approved activity.

    🇫🇮 Finland

    Yes. Via Epassi you can make multiple purchases across different providers throughout the year, up to your €400 annual limit.
