Breathing
Breathing techniques are a vital tool if you wish to increase your energy, give your body new life, reduce stress, relax or improve your sleep. Breathing is an important part of yoga and is believed to have a positive impact on your mental state. By becoming more conscious of your breathing you will discover considerable changes in your well-being over time.
What Happens in the Body?
The parasympathetic nervous system works as a break, providing rest and recovery for the body. In contrast, the sympathetic nervous system stimulates activity and works as an accelerator. Breathing is key in creating balance between acceleration and break by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Without activating this part, we would constantly be high-strained which eventually would lead to stress-related illnesses.

Pranayama - Breathing Techniques
Pranayama means 'Control of Breath' in Sanskrit and is a central part in the yoga tradition. It is believed to be an important tool in creating balance and well-being in body and mind. Only a few minutes per day with any of the techniques will give you good results. Below we present some of the most common techniques:
Long Deep Breaths - One of the most common breathing exercises, easy to perform. Try long deep breaths with Emma Öberg, 5 min
Nadi Shodhana - Also referred to as alternate nostril breathing. It balances the nervous system; right nostril is connected to the sympathetic nervous system and left nostril is connected to the parasympathetic nervous system.
