Have you heard the story of Buddha when he goes hardcore before discovering the more peaceful ‘middle way’ that comes to define Buddhism? In this fourth part of the audio series, Mike talks about how Siddhartha gets tough on suffering and wastes away from his extremely strict ascetic lifestyle, as part of the Śramaṇa movement and the practices of tapas. This talk contains readings from Thích Nhất Hạnh and the Pali Canon.
This is the fourth part of Mike's second series about yoga philosophy. You can listen to the talks when you go for a walk, ride the bus, or wherever you want.
This audio series is for you who are interested in yoga philosophy and want to gain an appreciation of the different periods of innovation in yoga. If you are a yoga teacher these talks and exercises can give you a new perspective to approach yoga philosophy, both in your own practice and in your teaching.
Take part of the whole series: A New Story of Yoga.
If you want to learn more about yoga philosophy and your own mind, listen to Mike's first series: Watch your mind move.
