About the event

What does it mean to move as naturally as possible? To us it means everything.

In this immersion, Satu Tuomela and Anja Berg, senior teachers of yoga and movement, Embodied Flow™️ certified teachers and curious Somanauts, share together where they ,at this moment, are with their work in discovering and embodying endless new territories of the BodyMind.

They have dedicated their lives to FEELing and to trusting the wisdom of natural rhythms in flow.

Join the radical movement of being fully who we really are.

From Satu:

“Your body is what is always in the Now and through its naturalness we sync in and meet a mentally calm, emotionally steady and physically grounded being. Natural Body is something that we already innately are but we tend not to recognize and be as we practice (for example in yoga or even dance).

We are many times told what to do and even how to feel. That will never hold space for the Natural Body, which needs to be felt just as it is. Just as it is moved by your breath, felt by your senses... as your embodiment, not someone else’s. Come and reclaim this life affirming felt sense of the real Natural You and learn tools to share it with your students!

We explore our sensory awareness, sound activation and sound initiated spontaneous movement, Embodied āsana, free movement, Somatic tools like Somatic Earthing and using creative soundscape to help and support the release of holding patterns that no longer serve us and re-map patterns that support efficiency, ease, Flow and integration- the Natural Body in the now.

Our sessions together are designed to be almost like a re-birthing experience into movement and your felt sense. Nothing will be taken for granted, everything is aimed to be met just as they are.

We will mix between mantra, sounding, lecture, movement practice, partner work and sharing”

From Anja:

“There is a natural beauty in the way our bodies responds to the world! Simple movements, free from culture, yet it can feel like poetry to the one who is moving. Even though we carry the capacity to move in un-complicated ways, most of us feel complicated.

Nervous system basics:
By practicing the tiny and the simple we can reconnect to our natural responses in movement. What is the body saying? You have to be ready to disconnect to some habits and allow time for the new and small to have its way with you. These tiny choices is what accumulated turns into the big transformation we long for. The choices of body positioning, of listening to impulse through the day and orienting to your surroundings may seem not important. But they are.

Not everyone will be ready to take the step back as far as you need to to reprogram and heal. But if you are, this work is meant ro rebuild trust through listening to and allowing the tiniest choices of positioning and allowing the natural impulses of your body.

Knowing energy:
Who's talking? By starting to get to know what your energy feels like and how someone else energy feels, you can be clearer on what is what in the yoga room (or in everyday life). Bonnie Bainbridge- Cohen was once asked how she knew what was her own energy and someone else. She answered: "how do I know it is me talking now?". Through group exercises and the nervous system part of this immersion we will start to navigate the field of the individual and group mind.

These sessions are an introduction to your nervous system and feeling into what your energy is. They are meant to be a mix between lecture, movement practice, exercises in the group and self reflection.”

We are so honored to hold space for you.
This is for all teachers/space holders of movement as medicine.
X, Satu and Anja

About the teachers:

SATU:
“I have always felt a lot. Felt a lot, and felt: yes, I must be from this world since I'm here, but I know, sense and feel that there is so much more to it than meets the eye. So I turned my eyes inward, my ears inward. I felt the silence of my bones, saw the inner landscapes of my living, heard the echoes of my ancestors’ voices. I started remembering, and I dropped in. I have learned to let things flow.

I am courageous enough to meet myself at every moment and be in the channel of remembrance, of the light, of the darkness, and of the otherworldly.

Yoga and intuitive movement have truly given me a home, a ritual, an opening into discovery.

From this discovery a language and a presence has developed over the years to clearly articulate all the messages coming through and to guide others into themselves; into healing. For me this is salvation.”

Satu has been teaching 20 years and is known for her very unique, otherworldly and authentic transmission. Borrowing the words of one of her students: "Satu`s classes leave you with "what the hell just happened?" It's beyond yoga, it's a LIFE a LOVE a REALIZATION class”.

She is an experienced yoga teacher (ERYT500) with more than 10000 teaching hours under her belt, Embodied Flow™ senior teacher, a teacher training facilitator since 9 years, Creator of Embodied Yin and Co-creator of Embodied Flow™ Yin program and a Reiki Master, soon to be a movement therapist.

Satu charms with her intuitive, all seeing, facilitation and a big love for classical tantrik teachings, Shamanic roots and goddess vibe. Her exquisite use of music, harmonium playing, singing, humor, loving adjustments, Reiki and clear understanding of human body and how everybody is unique, iswell known around the world.

Satu has a background in dancing (ballet) and basketball. She fell in love with yoga in her teens and started teaching almost immediately. Satu has studied two different 200h trainings in vinyasaflow and Hatha, she is immersed in Anusara yoga, continued also with two advanced trainings (300h), the latest with her main, and very loved, pioneering teachers Scott Lyons and Tara Judelle, And has studied and taught yin yoga since 2007.

Satu used to study with Tiffany Cruikshank and has also participated in the offerings of Elena Brower. She is grateful for the amazing knowledge of foundational anatomy that Tiffany taught her and the courage to face her fears and "kicks in the butt" that Elena offered so generously. Satu’s current main teachers are Sally Kempton and Christopher Wallis ( nondual Tantra and meditation) and, of course, Tara and Scott.

Satu has had the privilege to teach and offer workshops, retreats, trainings and classes around the world from Hawaii to Bali. She mainly teaches in Europe and is based in Portugal.

Satu is passionate about women`s empowerment and holds Women`s Temple Groups around Northern Europe regularly. She is a Tantra devotee and honors her daily sadhana with passion.

In 2013 Satu founded Pranama (yoga studio) with couple of other teacher friends. It is a collective of yoga teachers dedicated to giving back and to offering Yoga for all! Now the Helsinki Studio is one of the most popular yoga studios in Finland. Its the first ever, and only, donation based studio, where people pay directly to the teacher teaching the class, not the studio. Now the mission has grown into Pranama in Stockholm and Pranama in her hometown of Ericeira, Portugal.

Satu and her Authentic Flow Tribe run 50h, 100h, 200h and 500h- teacher trainings and advanced teacher trainings (we are a Yoga Alliance RYS200 and RYS300 school ) all over the world.

ANJA:
Presence is my power in the yogaroom. When I teach I am right there with you, nowhere else, and the language we speak is movement.

I am certified in Embodied Flow™ yoga and teach my own blend of movement and asana with the intention of soothing and empowering. Soothing the over-used and empowering the simpleuncomplicated connections through body and mind.

When we move from the mind of a body system, or a connection between places we may not always pay attention to, our consciousness gets the opportunity to show itself from that aspect ofus. As we release our thinking mind into the felt sense of ourselves, time truly stops. The onlyexperience is now. Our nervous systems relaxes, our body returns to relationship with earth through gravity, muscles starts to relax and fluids harmonize.

I usually start class with simple movements leading us into a progression of asana in both the traditional and free movement sense. Sometimes classes are very open to free movement and sometimes it's led pose by pose. My intention is to move us dynamically in an easeful wayeverytime we meet on, or off the mat.

I met yoga 20 years ago and have spent 14 years teaching yoga as my full-time job. I started teaching Anusara Yoga which is very linear and outer-body dominant, and through it found my need to move towards somatics and energy body practices to heal and grow and enjoy! I have my own yoga school, Yoga Buddhi, and have trained yogateachers for over a decade. I teach online with Yogobe.com, write and contribute to the yoga community in the ways open to me. My passion right now is understanding the nervous system to reprogram myself and heal myself to heal my world, and to help others do the same.

My main teachers are: Tara Judelle, Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen, Sally Kempton and Irene Lyon.
