Space to wonder

Life is a mysterious and poignant thing; a fact we often forget when absorbed in our thoughts. This retreat gives us time and opportunity to reflect on the depth of our wondrous existence. Together we will ponder the bigger questions in life on a contemplative weekend of countryside comfort and natural forests. This is a wonderful chance to immerse yourself in yoga philosophy, through fun interactive lectures, discussions and experientially through various practices.

Friday warmly welcomes you with lively movement, a delicious dinner and evening discussion circle. During Saturday we inquisitively explore the key theme in meditational yoga - what part of us witnesses our lives. On nature walks, meditations and interactive lectures, we explore ways to get in touch with our Awareness and appreciate the infinite details of our surroundings. During the day there is free time in a cozy surrounding, nutritious healthy food and an evening sauna.

Is time passing by too quickly? After a good sleep, Sunday dives deeper into watching time slowly pass by as we explore the Japanese concept of mono no aware, and reflect on how to add novelty and attention to our lives. The day revolves around gentle meditations, quirky philosophy talks and spending time admiring nature.

About the teachers

Mike - Mike believes yoga philosophy should be entertaining, applicable and understandable, and thrives on empowering students with a greater depth of understanding behind their practices and offerings. As well as hosting nerdy talks, Mike provides philosophy lectures on retreats and yoga teacher trainings in a light-hearted and approachable style, always attempting to make the complexities of yoga traditions more easy to grasp.

Saga - I want to empower you to be and become your true self.

I moved into yoga during a difficult life situation at a young age. It was a powerful practice that invited me in, to put the body to it’s limits and to rediscover undigested emotions that I had to deal with back then, and still now. At best I create a deep understanding of one’s inner strength through challenging postures and full recovery with rest, all in one class.

Meeting arriving students from heart to heart and sharing about my story openly organically grew a loving community. Welcoming people and getting to really know everyone is at the core, and heart of Sagayoga. This community was created for a need for everyone arriving being seen and heard.

Lauri - Yoga for me is a calmness and a clarity.

A practice, whether of stillness or movement, which creates a powerful state of being that endures in everyday life. At its best both the practice and the state of being is shared with others. When we come together in a class, while it can always be a deeply individual moment, I feel like there is a beautiful sense of co-creation happening. So thank us! Other than that, I love to walk into the woods (deeper the better), breathe, sit down and maybe carve a wooden spoon. Or maybe just sit.
