By dedicating a moment each day to stretch your body is a good investment both for your figure and health. Mobility training
There are many ways to stretch, and many different ways to train mobility. Here at Yogobe we offer Yoga as a great tool to increase mobility, but also other types of mobility training that aren’t necessarily performed through yoga. Here you can read more about mobility in general. You can also take part in Tanja Djelevic’s training program Bendable Body in order to have variation in your mobility training. To keep in mind
It’s very important that you are careful when you stretch and perform the exercises calmly and methodically. It shouldn’t hurt and quick movements can cause more harm than good. There are also occasions where you shouldn’t stretch, for example in case of injury, infection, fever, and fractures. Find a balance, get in good contact with the muscle without finding yourself in an outer position.
Stretching and hypermobility
If you are hypermobile you need to be extra careful not to stretch yourself into an outer position. That means not to go too far into the stretch. Hypermobility means that you have more flexible joints, which can lead to straining the joint and ligaments rather than stretching the muscle if you go too deep when performing the movement.
"Det är ingen slump att gymnaster kan gå ner i spagat och upp i brygga. Vi har alla olika förutsättningar men måste komma ihåg att vi har gjort något för det. Det måste finnas någon daglig rutin och daglig disciplin för att kroppen ska bli som den är." Magnus Ringberg
