To teach, we need sensitivity, intention, compassion and courage. A good, authentic teacher always teaches from her/his own practice. As a teacher we are there to support, inspire and see what there is needed for each individual and for the group as a whole too. We must create and facilitate a safe environment for learning and growth. As the most important tools, we learn about holding space, use of voice, body language and touch, the purpose and use of props and Hands-on adjustments and assists.
Embodied Flow™ provides the technology for a deep sense of ease, strength and connectivity in the human form. This in turn, helps us as teachers to see and understand different bodies and furthermore we gain tools to empower our students to be their own greatest teacher as they expand, process, integrate and facilitate awareness in their entire body-mind.
“Yoga has given me a practice, a ritual, a science, and an art form. A language to clearly articulate all the messages coming through and to guide others into themselves; into healing. For me yoga is salvation.” – Satu.
Satu has been teaching for almost 20 years and is known for her very unique, otherworldly and authentic transmission. Borrowing the words of one of her students: " Satu`s classes leave you with "what the hell just happened?". It’s beyond yoga, it’s a LIFE a LOVE a REALIZATION class”. “Aside from perfecting headstands (or for me a yin saddle pose), philosophy is one of the more challenging aspects of yoga to master, but I don’t think it needs to be. Philosophy should be an everyday practice available for everyone. A way of thinking that teachers should be able to articulate and integrate into their classes.” – Mike
Mike from the UK has a BA in Western Philosophy, certificates in Yoga Philosophy and Hinduism, a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and is currently studying Sanskrit with Oxford University. Apart from this Mike has travelled extensively, working as an expedition leader in South America, China and Africa; a PADI Divemaster in S.E. Asia and a Kayak Instructor in Europe. More recently, he has designed bespoke certificates in International Skills for a university in Denmark. Last year he was teaching Philosophy classes at two of Satu’s teacher trainings and will be launching a certificate in Applied Yoga Philosophy.
