Reverend Sam Rudra Swartz is an ordained interfaith minister and certified in Integral Yoga as a Hatha Yoga, Meditation, and Raja Yoga Teacher. He came to the teachings of Yoga in 2001 when he was introduced to the Integral Yoga Institute and his teacher Swami Satchidananda while working as a server in a New York City Bar.
Sam is a resident of the Integral Yoga Institute Ashram in New York City where he teaches a weekly Gentle Yoga class as well as being an active substitute for many classes per week. He runs meditation workshops and intensives at the Institute in New York as well as classes in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, a unique class called Judaism and Yoga; Comparative Paths, and classes in Interfaith Studies. He has performed wedding ceremonies in several states and has also led Jewish Services in many different synagogues in many different cities.
Education: Certified in Integral Yoga as a Hatha Yoga, Meditation, and Raja Yoga Teacher. He received his certification to "Kid Around," as a children's yoga teacher in January of 2012. He was ordained in 2004 as an Interfaith Minister. Bachelor of Music in Brass Performance, Tuba Concentration from Boston University's College of Fine Arts Music School in 1996.
