In Sanskrit, the word virya </ i> means power, energy and enthusiasm. So it was perhaps no coincidence that the yoga form that Josephine developed together with a naprapath got the name viryayoga. Because in viryayogan you will encounter dynamic, enthusiastic and swinging yoga sequences focusing on healthy biomechanics and always with a philosophical mindset for the soul.
Josephine's (E-RYT 500) background consists of working as a dancer, actor and documentary filmmaker. She has written several books about yoga and has featured viryayoga in a lot of programs on TV4. She has educated over 300 yoga teachers at the Nordic Yoga Institute - NYI (RYS) in Sweden, Norway and India.
Renowned for her humorous, warm and sometimes drastic appeal, profound knowledge and philosophical reasoning, Josephine holds yoga classes, workshops and travels around the world. During the summers she teaches at the virya's own yoga center in Spain, but always returns "home" to the sister studio Yoga Shakti in the south of Stockholm.
Education: The Ballet Academy (Stockholm), London Contemporay Dance School (London), TV producer at the Dramatic Institute (Stockholm), History of Ideas (Stockholm), Anusara Yoga (John Friend, USA), Ashtanga Yoga (Patthabi Jois, India and Larry Schultz, USA), Iyengar Yoga (Alex Popa, India).
