Soma MOVE

Soma MOVE is a holistic form of workout, developed by Linus Johansson and Cecilia Gustafsson. The simple but effective exercise focuses on body, mind and soul, and includes elements from different disciplines, both Western and Eastern. 

SOMA MOVE®

SomaMove combines movement with knowledge. The practice is based on the theory to work the entire body in order to build strength, flexibility and to be injury free. Your body is your resistance and the ground is your equipment. The movements naturally succeed each other, putting the emphasize on dedicated and intense moves rather than concentrating too much on technique and position. The hands and grip are the foundation of the movement, elevated by dynamic breaths.

How does it work?
The session takes place on the floor and it centers on a continuous flow of movement patterns, focusing on the body as one unit. When you practice the movements, you might perceive yogic and gymnastic elements or aspects originating from physical exercise and martial art. Flexible, powerful and at times animalistic or more upright movements, will keep you active during the whole session that usually lasts between 30-45 minutes. Though you will work up heat in a 10 minute session. The sessions are carried out with powerful music in the background, however, without having to follow a certain tact or pace. It is of course possibel to workout in silence and focus on hearing and sensing your breath.

When should I practice SOMA MOVE®?
If you want to try a holistic workout that is both athletic and gentle, combining rhythm, breath, presence, intensity, glow, animalistic tones, gymnastic exercises and bare foot training. Are you curious to get to know yourself and your body better? Perhaps you want to improve your stamina, strength, explosivity, stability, mobility and coordination, then you should definitely try SOMA MOVE.

SOMA MIND®

SOMA MIND is balance, it's our yin to the SOMA MOVE heat. As much as we are drawn to powerful energy, our bodies also appreciate and need stillness. Here you will be engaged in easy and effective techniques in order to quickly activate your parasympathic nervous system. What brings you calm also makes you soft, kinder and more grounded. It helps you sleep better, heal and digest your food better.

How does it work?
You are lying down on a mat and at first you are guided through a series of different poses. You then lie down to do a body scan, and the session ends with an easy and comfortable sitting meditation. In total, you practice SOMA MIND for 45 minutes, preferably with a blanket close by. It might happen that you doze off considering that the experience is deeply relaxing. Like balm for the body and soul when you need to recover!

When should I practice SOMA MIND®?
When you need to regain balance between activity and rest, performance and recovery, doing and being as well as when you need to unwind, both physically and mentally. Or if you need to strengthen body awareness and find a simple and accessible way to your conscious presence and meditation.
